These are a few of my close friends and family. Some of the relatives I haven’t met yet, so I can’t personally vouch for exactly how I can be related to a Maine Coon and Russian Blue. I mean, we did have a DNA test done and I’m just not seeing it!
Anyway, my friends from around the neighborhood come by to play and we meet on the street on walks, but I haven’t gathered everyone’s photo yet. As soon as I fetch more photos, I’ll put them up here!
Delaney
This is my very good friend Delaney. She lives down the street and comes to play. She’s a Beagle mix too! Delaney is from New York, so she‘s unafraid of traffic and noise. She’s adjusted to having wide open areas very well, we go to the same park to run around together.
Milton
Milton is my elder. He and his brother Blackie were rescued from the the Miami Dade College campus where someone had dumped them. You can see by the hypnotic gaze in Milton’s eyes that he has power over Mom, first exhibited when she was leaving the campus to go to her car. He followed her hesitantly (manipulatively!), meowing (pathetically!) begging her to come back or take him. She chose take THEM!
Barkley & Toby
They come to visit and I run around and play with Barkley sometimes. Toby stands guard while we play to make sure there’s no danger. Their parents are really great dog people who rescued Toby and Barkley, and carry the best treats of anyone!
Yogi
I am a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and a Special Puppy, a Rescue Baby. My former owners left me out in the backyard during Hurricane Francis (2004) as it blew into North Central Florida. They really didn’t want me, so a neighbor came to my rescue. She had help finding me my New Owners; I hit the Doggy Lotto. In my new home, I learned how to fetch a stick and play ball, what Cookies and Treaties are, and I have lots of Cool Toys. We go for great walks (I live in the country), and hang out on the back deck in the evening. If it weren’t for Hurricane Francis, I wouldn’t be having this much fun!
Darla & Ozzy
The twins are Russian Blues--they are not Putin fans though! Darla, the smaller one on the left is shy, Ozzie is on the right is an attention grabber. They live in New York with my Aunt and Uncle LuKat. I’ve never met any of them yet.
Kyrie
From the looks of this photo Kyrie had a vampire glam shot done because she wants to be a MEME when she grows up! Kyrie is a Maine Coon, although she’s never been to Maine and self-identifies as a New Yorker.

Blackie
Blackie and Milton were a package deal! I first saw Blackie with Milton eating scraps and later my lunch. Sadly, he died in 2017.
A peculiar cat, Blackie was. Ferociously, aggressive with other wildlife for a long time, but would run away from a fight any time! Milton was his defender. The only two people in the his life that he let pet him were Lynn and I. And that’s a special honor when a somewhat wild or reclusive cat allows you to pet him and even roll over for a belly rub.
Milton and Blackie were inseparable. Luckily, Patches had joined our family just months before Blackie left and now she is in charge of Milton.
We love you Blackie,
Your moms
Maggie
Maggie is the youngest of our gang. She’s fluffy, a great jumper and runs really fast! We have fun running around and playing.
Diva
I think the name says it all, however, here’s a direct quote: "What, you want some of this? Good then, pet me!"
Valentino
This is my cousin in Georgia: "I may be a Havanese breed but I’m actually Italian. I am the most interesting dog in the world."
Princess
Princess is a brown Tortoise Shell kitty - who clearly has her own bed and blanket! She’s adorable and belongs to my human cousin Grace.
Rupert & Karla
Rupert is the black dog on the left. He is a sensitive senior canine with a well developed stubborn streak. Prefers people over other dogs for sure. Greets people he loves with a howl.
Karla, polka dotted dog is my spiritual adviser and life guru. She is always happy. Gets out of bed each morning with a perfect downward dog and a tail held high. When not snuggling with her mama, she patrols the squirrels in the garden.
Mavis
Mavis, the cat also known as the princess, holds the world record for sleeping for hours on end. When awake she can a fierce huntress!

Mickey
Mickey had the most beautiful green eyes. He was strong and independent but also loyal and affectionate… if you were his friend. Mickey came walking through our hedge into the backyard one day more than 13 years ago, adopted by a lovely family across the street from us. He could not have picked a better family, and they could not have picked a more devoted furry family member.
Mickey, with his intense stare and bravery reminded us of the neighborhood Irish kid. He protected his turf (which included his own yard, ours and beyond) with regular perimeter walks. I have witnessed neighboring trouble-making cats casually walking within the perimeter, stop right in their tracks when they caught site of Mickey, then turn and go back home.
Mickey was loved and is remembered fondly.
